Our Analysis and Test Results
The Goplus SuperFit 2 in 1 Folding Treadmill is a compelling option for walkers or light runners who are tight on space or interested in the versatility of its 2 in 1 design. It can be used with the handrail up like a regular treadmill or folded down like an under desk model. This versatility and the lighter weight and smaller size of the Goplus result in some major compromises in the size of the running surface and its speed range, however, making it far from ideal for running at higher speeds or those with a long stride. Regardless, this treadmill could be a good fit for apartment dwellers or office workers for walking or light jogging.
Performance Comparison
Exercise Quality
Due to the nature of this Goplus SuperFit's smaller size and 2-in-1 design, it makes some concessions in terms of its exercise quality, especially when compared to the larger, and more expensive, competition. It has a relatively small tread surface and a limited speed range, making it best suited to walking or very light jogging. It is quite basic and does not have any workout programs or compatibility with training apps. This treadmill is best suited for walking, jogging, and light intensity exercise.
The Goplus SuperFit can be used in two ways, with the handrail folded down in walk mode or with the handrail up in run mode. In walk mode, its speed range is limited to 1-4 km/h (2.5 mph max) and it can used anywhere, including at a standing desk. In run mode, it has a top speed of 12 km/h (7.5 mph max) making it suitable for everything from walking to jogging. This speed range is quite limiting when compared to other models that can support speeds up to 12 mph, but given the smaller size of the running surface, we wouldn't really want to try and run any faster than 7.5 mph anyway. That running surface measures just 40-inches long x 16-inches wide which is fine for walking or a light jog, but not adequate for running at higher speeds. Even when jogging, care must be taken to not step on the side rails and those with a long stride may feel somewhat limited by the shorter length.
Every workout on the Goplus SuperFit is manually controlled. There are no workout programs, and the user is responsible for adjusting the tread speed and keeping track of time, distance, or calories burned. Again, this model is very basic, especially when compared to fancy high-end models with connected features and touchscreens.
Companion App/Connectivity
The Goplus SuperFit uses Bluetooth to connect to your phone to play music through its small speaker. This is a simple machine that does not feature any connected features that make it compatible with training apps.
User Interface/Ease of Use
While the Goplus SuperFit is generally quite easy to use, it loses ground in this metric due to its display and controls. This is a basic treadmill and starting a workout is impressively straightforward. The display, however, is small, shows one metric at a time, is in a difficult-to-see location, and the controls consist of a handheld remote to change the speed. While functional, the display and controls leave a lot to be desired.
It is very quick and easy to start a workout on the Goplus SuperFit. Flip the main power switch to turn it on, then use the remote to start the tread and adjust the speed. Since there are no programs or anything to fuss with, it's as simple as that. If you happen to have it stored under a bed or in a closet, then you may also need to go through the extra step of folding the handrail up into position to put it in run mode, depending on how you intend to use it.
A small LED display is positioned at the front of the treadmill shows one metric at a time and switches between elapsed time, speed (in km/h), distance, and estimated calories burned. While the numbers are bright and big enough to read, the screen's location down at the front of the tread belt makes it somewhat difficult to see. A small remote is used to adjust the belt speed, with + and - buttons to speed it up or slow it down. There are no controls on the handrail, the remote is the only way to adjust the speed. While this is certainly effective, it is somewhat annoying to hold it in your hand while you walk or jog.
Features
The Goplus SuperFit is a pretty bare-bones treadmill, and it doesn't necessarily come loaded with features. The few features it does have, however, help to enhance its storability and convenience.
The primary feature of the Goplus is its folding handrail. This allows you to use it in either walk or run mode and makes it impressively small and storable when not in use. It can easily fit under a bed or couch or stuffed in a closet with the handrail folded down. It also has small transport wheels that make it easy to roll on firm surfaces. Beyond that, it has a small bracket on the top of the handrail that can hold a smartphone, as well as a small Bluetooth speaker to play music while you exercise.
Ease of Assembly
The Goplus scored well in this metric for its quick and easy assembly. It comes mostly assembled with only a few easy steps remaining to complete the process. It is also relatively small and lightweight compared to the other models we tested, so handling it in the box and removing it from the box is relatively easy.
While the Goplus is much lighter weight than other treadmills, it still weighs about 80-pounds in the box. You may need the help of another person to move it in the package and remove it from the box. Once the packing materials are removed, the remaining steps are to attach the phone holder to the top of the handrail and to attach the handles. One thing that is somewhat inconvenient is that the handles are bolted onto the handrail, so if you intend to switch between walk and run modes regularly, you will need to remove them every time, or just leave them off altogether. Regardless, we found the assembly process to be straightforward, taking only about 20-25 minutes to complete.
Storability
One of the biggest strengths of the Goplus is its storability. This model's lighter weight and impressively small collapsed size make it the best option for those who are super tight on space, assuming its smaller running surface and lower speeds work for you.
Even in run mode with the handrail in the up position, the Goplus is the smallest treadmill we tested with a footprint of 51" L x 27" W and a height of 41.5". With the handrail folded down, it is only 52" L x 27" W with a shockingly low thickness of 5.25". This makes it super easy to slide under a couch or bed, or lean in a closet when not in use. Two small wheels at the front of the treadmill make it easy to roll around, and the 70-pound weight is fairly easy to handle, especially when compared to other models that weigh 2-4 times as much.
Noise Level
The GoPlus is a relatively quiet treadmill, roughly on par with the other models we tested. Like most treadmills, the majority of the noise comes from your footfalls when walking or jogging on it.
Should You Buy the Goplus SuperFit 2 in 1 Folding Treadmill?
If you're looking for a convenient treadmill for walking or light jogging that tops the charts for storability, then the Goplus is a good option to consider. This treadmill is not made for serious running, instead, it is best suited for walking or power walking. while its folding handrail design gives it the versatility to be used on its own or at a standing desk. Its compact design makes it particularly appealing to those who are tight on space, as it can easily be stored when not in use.
What Other Treadmills Should You Consider?
If you're tight on space but want a treadmill that can handle more serious workouts, the Echelon Stride is the obvious choice. It is significantly more expensive, but with a much larger running surface and a 12 mph max speed, it is better suited to higher intensity workouts. It also works with the Echelon app, so you can follow along with a wide range of live and on-demand treadmill and total body workouts. The Stride's handrail also folds down flat, and it can also be stored under a bed or up against a wall when not in use. If you're operating on a tighter budget and storage space is less of a concern, then the Sunny Health and Fitness SF-T4400 offers a longer running surface and higher top speed, but sacrifices the storable convenience of the Goplus.
