Pros Liner makes it warmer and helps wick moisture, great wind protection.Low price, sleek fit, super small packed size, good DWR coating.Super light, highly water resistant, great venting features, good wind resistance, affordable.Great fit, useful features that work well, highly breathable stretch fabric, stylish look.Stuff pack has a waist strap to allow independent carrying, super breathable, great stretchy fit.
Cons Too hot for summer, doesn’t pack down very small. No way to stow hood away, a bit too snug for layering beneath. Not very breathable, no clip-in loop on stuff sack, limited applicability beyond trail running.Expensive, no hand pockets, DWR coating not very durable, less wind protection than others.Terrible water resistance, not as wind resistant as other jackets, not ideal with a large backpack.
Bottom Line A great layer for aerobic activities in cooler months, too much insulation for warm conditions. The best value if money is a concern, and also the best wind breaker to hang on the back of a harness.A great choice for trail and mountain runners, not very applicable for everyone else.A real jacket that protects against wind, light rain, and cool temps. The option to bring it along anytime without needing a hydration pack is a huge bonus.
