Pros | Soft fabric, great for restorative classes | Buttery soft, easy to move in, great color options and fit, comfortable, breathable | Compressive, shaping, stylish, and durable | Lightweight, breathable, easy to move in, inexpensive | Durable, look great on, comfortable material, breathable, capri fit |
Cons | Camel-toe creator, no compression, not durable | Needs delicate care | A little tight, thick, could be more breathable | Fabric is a little stiff compared to others, durability issues in previous pairs | A little tight around the waist, not much variety in style and color |
Bottom Line | The fabric is super soft, but the fit and durability were disappointing for the price tag | Soft and comfortable for various athletic activities, we love their breathability, ease of movement, and color options | A compressive all-around tight that's great for most activities, but doesn't breathe well for a heated yoga class | An inexpensive pair that works well for a variety of styles | Performs well for most yoga classes and is a great addition to the closet |

Our Analysis and Test Results
The Beyond Yoga Caught in the Midi are incredibly comfortable, making them perfect for restorative yoga or lounging around the house. They're not the most breathable for hot weather or yoga, and when we pulled them up too high, they gave us an apparent camel toe.
Performance Comparison
Breathability
The Caught in the Midi are warm, but not very breathable. The fabric on these pants is very soft, but the softness was very insulating; in hot yoga, these pants were a little much. The material absorbs moisture from your sweat, so when you're done with yoga, it feels like you're wearing a wet towel. However, for yoga in a cooler environment (especially during stay-at-home orders), they were perfect. We found them especially comfortable for Yin style classes and lounging around the house. They also proved to be an excellent option for cold winter sports. The Caught in the Midi also provided plenty of insulation under our snow gear.
Ease of Movement
The Caught In the Midi were very easy to move in. We found that we did not think about them too much during yoga, and they gave us enough movement to do whatever pose we wanted to do. However, with running and HIIT training, they did not provide enough compression on our legs. As a result, we found ourselves continually pulling up our pants.
Comfort and Fit
Comfort is the number one thing these pants have going for them. The first time we tried them on, we were dumbfounded by how comfy they are. The fabric is made out of 87% Polyester and 13% Lycra, and Beyond Yoga have made a silky soft blend. They are perfect for a restorative yoga practice or light exercise. Caught in the Midi's only competitor is the Lululemon Align pant, which has better compression for more intense activities.
Our biggest problem with these pants is that they create a camel toe when pulled up too high. Because there isn't enough compression for higher-impact activities, we found ourselves pulling them up quite a bit, and a camel toe appeared as a result.
Durability
The Caught in the Midi are not the most durable. Over time and with several washes, they became less soft. Pilling also became apparent in the high-friction zone between our thighs (we even followed all the washing instructions). Beyond Yoga suggests that you machine wash these pants with similar fabric and leave them out to hang dry.
The material is fragile. In fact, the pair we tried ripped on the knee cap, and we don't know how. If you are looking for a yoga pant that is more durable but still has the same softness, we suggest checking out Lululemon Align.
Value
The Caught in the Midi are more expensive than many options we tried. Ideal for gentle/restorative yoga, they are worth the price tag for someone who knows they are spending the extra dough on comfort. Be prepared that these pants may not last as long as some, due to their super soft fabric.
Conclusion
While we loved the comfort of the Beyond Yoga Caught In the Midi, that is where it ends. They aren't the most breathable, and are best suited for gentle yoga or lounging (we all need a pair!).
