Our Verdict

The OEUUDD 25000mAh is, first and foremost, a battery pack. Note that the emphasis is on the battery pack. This device has a large battery capacity and can charge three devices from its USB outlets. The 25,000 mAh allows for multiple charges at an affordable price. The bright 36 light LED back panel provides an amazing light when camping or moving around at night while also being a manageable size for carrying around. However, the small solar panel did little to charge the battery so don't expect much performance from the solar charging. Our Analysis and Test Results

This battery pack with a small solar panel offers outdoor enthusiasts a chance to plug in while outdoors by offering three USB ports and strong charging speeds. Relying on the device solely as a solar-powered charger would be difficult but the fully charged battery pack makes it an invaluable asset. The device is a bit bulky for bringing on backcountry excursions, but the OEUUDD 25000mAh proved to be a great battery pack/solar combo.

Performance Comparison

Direct Solar Charging Speed

This device's solar panel acts more as a backup than the main feature and so it had a minimal performance with the solar charging speed. The 1.5-watt solar panel catches some sunlight but only gained a 4.2% charge, about 210 mAh during our testing. Plugging in the device with a USB cable will provide a faster and more reliable charge. Think of this device as a battery pack with the addition of a solar panel rather than a solar charger alone. Charging it directly through the micro USB takes about 12 hours with the 5v charger.

Consider the solar panel as an emergency power source for this charger and less of a reliable source of energy. Just for fun, we tested how long it would take the OEUUDD to charge when fully reliant on solar. Turns out, it took over two hours for the battery pack to charge from 25% to 50%. This is slow and steady progress but is surprisingly efficient for such a large battery. Compared to other battery packs we've tested, this is actually a fairly impressive charging rate. Though not nearly as reliable as a traditional solar charger with a capacity of 10W or more, the OEUUDD is still fully functional. Plus, its large capacity battery means that you'll be able to get a fair number of charges out of the battery pack, even without relying on the sun.

Indirect Charging Speed

Again, the small solar panel on this device makes the energy from the sun more of an emergency backup than a reliable way to put juice back into your phone or USB device. In full cloud coverage, the device only received a 1.1% charge while in the partial sun it received a 3.2% charge, making it less than ideal under cloudy conditions. If only relying on solar, the panel has such a small capacity that it will not be able to reliably charge a device in marginal conditions. When the OEUUDD was at least partially charged and left out, it was able to consistently deliver charge to our electronics through interruptions due to shading. If the battery in this device dies, then it's best to charge it with one of its many USB ports instead of relying on the sun.

Portability

The solid size of this charger makes it easily portable. At 7.13" x 4.88" x 1.25" and 18.6 ounces, this device can be moved around and packed into a car or backpack with little hassle. Made from ABS and PC Silicone material, this IP65 waterproof, dustproof, and shockproof charger can withstand heavy wear and tear. Though our testers commented that it felt like a brick. It is a bit bulkier than we'd like, which made it hard to warrant bringing along on longer backcountry excursions.

The compact device has a small loop that the included carabiner can be clipped into. While it lacks a stand, the charger can easily be propped up on its own or hung by the carabiner. This allows the charger to be hung from a tent ceiling, a tree, or inside of a car while camping. Of note is the 36 LED light on the battery which comes with various lighting levels. The long press power button keeps the lights off and stops them from draining the battery. This makes it ideal for the outdoors as it can light the area while still charging devices.

In terms of portability, this charger compared well to the other models in the review.

Multiple Device Charging

With three USB ports, this solar charger gives options for users who need to plug in a tablet and multiple phones. The 25,000mAh capacity allows it to deliver charge to small devices at the same rate as a household plug. Though the charging rates diminish with multiple devices plugged in from 1209 mAh in the first port to 841 mAh in the second port. The OEUUDD 25000mAh charged a smaller battery pack and our cell phone simultaneously without much trouble. Our phone charged 12% over a thirty-minute test cycle; this is less than the battery performed when only charging a single device but much more impressive than a standard solar-only panel. The 25,000 mAh battery makes it a go-to as a charging station.

Should You Buy The OEUUDD 25000mAh?

This inexpensive solar charger offers a great charge-to-dollar ratio. The relatively low cost to power up multiple USB devices makes it a solid choice in the field. The solar panel underperformed and acted as a mere emergency backup but the battery power makes up for it with its 25,000 mAh. Its durable casing and waterproofing provide insurance against damage and prolong the life of this already hearty model. The OEUUDD 25000mAh is certainly a battery back first and foremost, and a solar panel second. But, compared to similar-capacity battery packs sold online, it holds its own in terms of price; adding in the solar option and the OEUUDD 25000mAh suddenly seems like an incredibly good deal.

What Other Solar Chargers Should You Consider?

This durable, portable battery pack provides a ton of power for multiple devices. It is worth noting that the OEUUDD 25000mAh should be partially or fully charged to deliver consistent power to your devices. Being fully reliant on solar power alone will cause problems with this device. as it takes a long time for it to be charged. Its dimensions are small and it isn't overly heavy, though due to its weight, it's not the best option for backpacking. The pros outweigh the cons so-to-speak, especially when considering the price of this product. For those looking for a charger, the OEUUDD 25000mAh will power up your USB devices without zapping your wallet, making it a great option.
