Our Analysis

The Coleman PerfectFlow InstaStart 2-Burner Stove is much the same as the PerfectFlow 2-Burner Stove, about which we did a full review. The first (and obvious) difference is that the InstaStart has an auto ignite button. Other differences are that the Insta-Start…

• Costs $10 more
• Has two burners of 11,000 BTU rather than 10,000
• Is slightly smaller

• Has a silver lid rather than a green one

To get a better sense of how the stove stacks up against look at a more complete review of its sibling the Coleman PerfectFlow 2-Burner as well as our Camping Stove Review.

Should you get the InstaStart or the regular version?

We feel that generally the InstaStart is the way to go… as long as it lasts. We find that with most stoves the auto-ignite works great out of the box but then becomes less responsive over time. We have not completed our durability tests on the Coleman InstaStart yet so we can't comment. The downside to no InstaStart is you always need to have a long-handled lighter handy. The cost and hassle of keeping lighters handy makes the extra $10 price premium of the InstaStart worth it.
