Craig Rowe is a full-time contract and freelance writer based in Truckee, CA, but hails from upstate New York. He is an alumnus of the National Outdoor Leadership School, a Leave No Trace Master Educator, and also works as a backpacking guide in Yosemite National Park, the Grand Canyon, and southern Utah. Craig holds a B.A. in English and Professional Communication from Nazareth College in Rochester, NY, and he and his wife Karen have through-hiked the Tahoe Rim Trail, the Tour du Mont Blanc, and have completed several 100+ section hikes of the PCT. He also snowboards, surfs, and sometimes, hangs from a rope alongside a rock wall. He also invented TripTarp, a tool for planning and organizing backpacking trips.
