Our Analysis

These are the ideal casual yet functional pant. This pair looks good but can hold its own in just about any work or play setting. We wear these pants around town some days then go hiking off trail and through deep brush on the next days. They can be worn year-round and are surprisingly warm in the winter. However, for frigid conditions, we recommend the Mountain Khakis Original Mountain Pants Flannel-lined.

Material

These pants feature a 100 percent cotton canvas. They are rough, tough, and heavy. It is hard to think of a more durable pant that still gives you reasonable mobility. The fabric does get wrinkled very easily, but for most activities you use these for, who cares?

Sizing

I am usually a 32 Waist/32 Length, but these 32W/32L were so long that I had to roll them up. I didn't want to try the next size down because the waist was a bit too tight and I was worried they might shrink into floods. With thin soled sandals on I have to roll them up, but with thicker soled shoes or especially boots they fit fine.

Features

The pockets have wide-angle cut openings to fit your hands and wrists in easily.

Style

These are more of a Carhartt style khaki than a casual Friday khaki. But they look at home in town. They don't look like you just got off the job site.

Value

Fairly expensive but worth it for the durability and style if you work and play hard a lot in rugged environments and appreciate a good looking pair of pants.
