Our Verdict

The Suncloud Loveseat are lightweight and feel great on the face. They're a bit on the narrow side of medium, with flexible bows and a face-hugging base curve. Larger lenses add coverage to their close-fit and easy-to-love feel. Their Sienna Mirror lenses are on the yellow side of brown, but not distractingly so, instead they maintain decent contrast. They can produce some reflections back at you in certain lighting but are far from the worst we experienced. Perhaps not the most fashionably inspiring, the Loveseat are not without style and are best-loved by smaller-faced women.

Pros Lightweight, great coverage, flexible bows, secure fitSecure fit, great lenses, padded frame, excellent coverageSolid protection, look good on most faces, comfortable, well-priced, great warranty/exchange policyTruly oversized lenses, unique look, good for low lightPolarized, good contrast, lightweight, easy to wear, solid case, numerous accessories
Cons On the narrow side, some distracting reflections, uninspiring styleMay be tight, style doesn't work for everyoneNot a bold style, unimpressive case, minor longevity issuesPerhaps too large, not overly protective, scratchy metal bits on the frameDistracting back-reflection, very long bows, lenses are loose
Bottom Line Lightweight and less expensive, these secure shades may not be fashionably adventurous but they are comfortableA blend of sporty and stylish, these secure fit shades offer great protection and great valueGood quality, inexpensive shades with a classic style that works well for just about everyoneBig lenses on large frames give a specific style vibe though sun protection is limitedA budget-friendly version of a cool retro style that unfortunately doesn't follow through in performance

Lens Quality

The polarized lenses of the Loveseat are fairly consistent and protective. These brown lenses do well in bright light and decently in slightly shaded environments as well. They're a touch on the yellow side, but only in a way that adds a hint of contrast without drastically changing the appearance of objects.

Lacking any anti-reflective layer, the backs of these lenses do reflect a certain amount of your face and surrounding objects. It's not horribly distracting, but in the wrong lighting, it's quite obvious.

Comfort

The Loveseat are meant to be worn quite close to your face and as such, they touch a good portion of the eyebrows and even along the cheeks a bit, especially when smiling. They have flexible bows that extend the range of accommodation of these medium-to-narrow shades. Weighing just 20 grams, they're some of the lightest women's sunglasses we tested. They have a very glossy, smooth finish that makes them comfortable to wear. They lack any rubber padding but their shape helps hold them securely against the face.

Style and Versatility

Though not unstylish, the Loveseat aren't a pair we'd reach for if we were trying to appear trendy or fashionable. They're more of an everyday sort of vibe. They look a little more at home on narrower faces, where they appear slightly trendier, as narrower heads help the lenses appear larger. Their degree of wrapping makes them just a touch sporty.

A bit narrow for some of our testers, but still not a bad look.

Frame Quality

Made of Evolve, a bio-based material that feels like plastic, the Loveseat frames are thin and flexible but still reasonably sturdy. They're thin from inside to outside but wide enough from top to bottom to maintain a good amount of structural integrity. Standard three-barrel hinges are integrated into the shape of the plastic components and secured with an easily accessible screw. There are no additional rubber sections or odd pieces to worry about and they feel pretty solid.

Coverage

The Loveseat have a base curve of 6, like many others we tested. This is a great middle-ground shape that hugs the face a bit, providing extra coverage without sacrificing the comfort of airflow. Though they're on the smaller side of medium, these still fit true-to-size, offering good-quality coverage. Inward curving bows help to hold these shades fairly securely, though their glossy surface can allow some slippage and bounce to occur if you're very sweaty or really jostling them.

Case Quality

These come with just a simple, thin microfiber bag case with a double-sided drawstring.

Value

On the lower end of the spectrum of prices we tested, the Loveseat shades are a pretty solid value. They're not the most trendy, but they're easy to love and just might be the right smallish-medium size and comfortable fit for both your face and budget.

Conclusion

The Suncloud Loveseat are an inexpensive pair of sunglasses that are lightweight and fairly loveable. They have decent lenses and solid coverage in their lightweight, comfortable frames. They aren't the most fashionable option out there but there's still a lot to love about the versatility and usefulness of these budget-friendly glasses.

Though a touch small, still a pretty easy to love pair.
