Our Verdict
Ultra-light pillows typically forgo comfort in the name of shedding weight, but the Sea to Summit Aeros Premium proves you can enjoy a good night's rest and keep your backpack light. Weighing just 3.4 ounces, the Aeros Premium offers about 4 inches of inflation and has a memory foam top, giving campers more comfort than models that only have air cushioning. While this pillow does fit well inside a mummy sleeping bag, it's quite a bit narrower than its lightweight competition. If smaller dimensions aren't a dealbreaker, keep the Aeros Premium on your finals list if you want a bit more comfort on your next backpacking trip.

“Ultralight comfort” is somewhat contradictory, but Sea to Summit kept this pillow light and comfy, with a memory foam top that felt soft and inviting after a long day of hiking. The valve system also makes it easy to get the firmness just right for your ears, neck, and head.

When packed up, the Sea to Summit Aeros Premium is very small, measuring just 4 inches by 3 inches by 3 inches. We could fit it in side pockets or oddly shaped spaces in our overnight backpacks, even when the bag was stuffed.
Dislikes
The dimensions of the Sea to Summit Aeros Premium are great for slipping into a narrow sleeping bag hood, but it's not as ideal if you change sleeping positions.
Larger pillows let us roll over when transitioning from our back to our side or from our side to our stomach, but the Aeros Premium is simply too narrow. Some of our testers reported that their heads rolled off the pillow onto the pad, which was especially startling in the middle of the night.

Should You Buy the Sea to Summit Aeros Premium?
We'd steer you toward the Aeros Premium if you want a memory foam pillow that's light enough for longer backpacking trips. The narrower profile of this pillow won't work for everyone, but it's hard to find something so light and packable that still can help you catch up on sleep after a big day on the trail.

What Other Camping Pillows Should You Consider?
Check out the close sibling to the Aeros Premium, the Sea to Summit Aeros Ultralight, which is lighter and much larger. The Aeros Ultralight has no cushioning besides air, but it lets you roll over easily in your sleeping bag. If you like the sound of packable luxury, check out the Sea to Summit Aeros Down, which is incredibly light and offers down padding in addition to air cushioning.
