The Knog Blinder 4 Standard is our highest rated ultralight bike light. It's compact, lightweight, easy to use, and has a wide beam pattern that illuminates close in front of you and makes you visible to cars, truck, and busses on crowded city streets. Of all the inexpensive (less than $45) bike lights we tested, the Knog Blinder 4 made us feel the safest. Furthermore, this is the only inexpensive light with a USB rechargeable battery. Compared to lights powered by disposable batteries, dollars saved by using the rechargeable Blinder could range from $15-$45 per year.
We highly recommend this light to anyone that wants a high quality yet affordable bike light to increase their safety while commuting, on weekend road rides, or touring. Our tests show that this light performs much better than lights around $20 and nearly as well as some lights that cost $80.
Though we found the Knog Blinder 4 to be a fantastic budget light, we urge you to consider investing in a brighter light that further increases your visibility and decreases the probability of getting in an accident. For example, the CygoLite Metro 360 is only slightly more expensive and blows away the Knog in brightness and beam quality. We think of the Knog as the ultimate extra light to have in addition to your main bright headlight and taillight.
Though still available on the KNOG website, the Blinder 4 has been discontinued and replaced with the MOB The Face.
