Pros:  Wicks away sweat, breathes well, very versatile, blocks the wind.

Overview
The Marmot Ether DriClime Windshirt shares the same internal material as Original DriClime on which we did a full hands-on review. The Original DriClime won our Top Pick award because it is the layer we reach for most often for hiking and biking. It did not block wind and rain like our Editors' Choice, the Arc'teryx Squamish Hoody. But that is mainly because it did not have a hood. The Ether adds a hood as well as some other features. It will be interesting to see how it compares to the hooded wind jackets once we thrash it in the mountains for a few months.

How the Ether DriClime is different than the Original DriClime
The Ether model:
  • Has a hood
  • Has two zippered hand pockets
  • Uses a 1.1 oz outer material instead of the 2.2 oz material on the Original DriClime Windshirt.
  • Costs $100, or $15 more than the Original DriClime
  • Comes in different bolder and brighter colors with different colored zippers

We will report back with a full hands-on review of the Ether as soon as we finish our test. For now, we encourage you to check out the hands-on review of the Original Marmot DriClime Windshirt as well as our Wind Breaker Jacket Review.
