First Look Gear Review

Pros: Protection and traction in a relatively lightweight shoe.
Cons: Doesn’t flex as well as others.
Best Uses: Trail runs, mixed runs/hikes, technical mountain terrain
Montrail has replaced the Mountain Masochist with the Mountain Masochist II. We don't see much difference in the new model except that the color options have changed. The old model which was easily found in grey and black with green piping can now be found in a black, white and grey model with red piping and also an orange, black and grey option.
The Masochist II is still sporting the extremely durable sole in a lightweight flexible package. It's an extremely versatile shoe, stable in all different kinds of terrain.
