Overview
The Sea To Summit Alpha Light is a great spork for anyone looking for the lightest camping utensil on the market. It is competitively priced, and an excellent investment for anyone committed to ultralight backpacking and mountaineering. That being said, there are some better options. The Light My Fire Spork is nearly as light and half the price. For those less concerned with weight and willing to spend a bit more, the Snow Peak Titanium Spork is significantly more durable and a bit more elegant. It’s also our “Editor’s Choice.” See our complete Sporks Review to see how they scored in head-to-head tests.

Likes
At a scant .3 oz, the Sea To Summit Alphalight was the lightest spork tested. A cleverly designed rib down the center of the handle gives the paper-thin aluminum a surprising amount of strength. It is perfect for those gram-counter types. An included, nifty little ‘biner keeps this spork tethered. (Take it off. It’s easy weight to shed.)

Dislikes
While overall, we thought this was a great spork, we did have a few qualms. The rib down the center, while an important part of the design, still leaves a weak point where the bowl meets the shaft. Heavy use can leave that point weak and brittle. The material, while pretty mouth-friendly, has an odd texture, which can be hard to clean.

Best Application
While ultralight backpackers and alpinists will love this spork for its weight and versatility, anyone looking for a light, strong spork will be happy with the Sea To Summit Alphalight.

Value
At just under $7, the Sea To Summit Alphalight spork is a great value for anyone looking for the lightest utensil that spork technology is capable of producing.
