Pros: Athletic cut, raglan sleeves offer a full range of motion, very stretchy, extremely breathable, great wicking, fast drying, many colors.
Cons: Very thin so it's not very good for cold weather (unless it's used as an underwear layer), can hold body odors.
Best Uses: Running, hiking, biking, multi-sports, cross-training, gym workouts, climbing, backpacking, yoga, pilates, martial arts, around town, underwear layers, pajamas, basicly any work or play or casual activities.
The first UA training t-shirt came only in a grey heather and was the original version of this new UA Tech shirt. The fabric is the same its been for years, ultra-lightweight polyester that wicks moisture away from the skin incredibly well. The downside to the great wicking capability is that the shirt will sometimes hold bad odors. Despite the occasional odor problem this shirt still meets or exceeds our expectations based on everything else it has going for it.
In most climates it is the perfect single top layer and in cold conditions it makes an adequate underwear layer. The soft, stretchy, very lightweight fabric is actually so easy going and relaxed our reviewers rarely wanted to take it off and could wear it for nearly any activity. As far as style goes, the main thing that sets this shirt apart is the "raglan sleeve" design which means the seams go from the neckline to the underarm rather than along the top of the shoulder. This design shows off an athletic build or any lack thereof. In a performance shirt, we feel style is much less important than the functionality of the design and the raglan sleeves have proven themselves in all of our tests to have a more full range of motion compared to shirts with the top seam design. The raglan sleeve is also better for carrying a backpack since there is no seam on the top of the shoulder where the pack straps would rub. This amazing shirt is comfortable enough to be worn around town, for work or play, and even as pajamas. It is one of the best all-around performance shirts we've ever tested and is available in a huge selection of colors.
