How We Test - Nut Tool

The Best Nut Tools for Climbing

How We Test
Says tester Ian Nicholson: "I've tested nut tools by climbing thousands of pitches throughout the world on dozens of different types of rock. I have used all the nut tools in this review, alone on multi-pitch routes and at other times testing features with side-by-side comparisons. In these side by side comparisons we focusing on Comfort to pound on, thin crack performace, and cam trigger hooking ability giving each nut tool the chance to clean the same nut from the same crack an so on. When starting this review I consulted some of my friends to get their input. The final testing was primarily in granite, but we feel we have a strong sense of each nut tool's characteristics in a range of situations."

All the weights and lengths were measured by OutdoorGearLab rather than accepting data supplied by manufacturers.
