This is the men’s version of the mid-weight Asolo Bullet GTX for women about which we did a full review. The women’s version won our Top Pick award for its strong performance as a backpacking boot.
The men’s version looks identical, weighs and costs the same and has the same specs. The only evident difference is the fact that the men’s version comes only in dark brown while the women’s version is offered in dark red and light tan.

The Best Hiking Boots.
More and more people these days prefer a lighter hiking boot or even a hiking shoe/trail runner. This reflects the lighter loads people are carrying on their backs. But for people who still want something burly and supportive, the Bullet is a nice modern version of the old school heavy full leather boot.
