Pros: Organic greens full of micronutrients, low glycemic index carbs due to use of plant based proteins. All organic ingredients. Cons: Some may find the calories low due to plant based proteins used in conjunction with organic nuts & seeds, but this is actually a very healthy way to eat. Various testers loved or not the taste of fruits and greens. Berry flavor was fav of testers. Many te Best Uses: Any high output activity where sustained energy is required.
Overview
Filled with a garden of 100% organic greens loaded with micronutrients, Amazing Grass Whole Foods Bars have an ideal combination of complex carbs, plant protein as well as organic nuts & seeds. The protein (5 grams) looks low compared to Vega Sport and Element Endurance bars, but the low glycemic index carbs in Amazing Grass bars (due to use of plant based proteins) are perfect to sustain high output activities. Some may find the calorie count low (210/3.5 calories per gram) due to plant-based proteins, however in conjunction with organic nuts & seeds, but this is actually a very healthy way to eat. Outdoor Gear Lab testers liked or not the taste of fruits and greens; many agreed some bar flavors were dry and medicinal tasting. “Good ingredients, not that tasty though…” Wild Berry flavor was the fav of testers.

Caloric Density
Reasonable caloric density with plant, nut, and fruit only ingredients. Taste Most Outdoor Gear Lab testers were in agreement that the nutrition content was achieved at the expense of taste in most flavors of this bar line- with the notable exception of Wild Berry.
