Cons: hard to load and maneuver, takes up a lot of space, attaches to seat post
Best Uses: introducing young kids to riding a bike
The Weehoo iGo Pro is a pedal style trailer that allows your child the ability to contribute to the ride or to sit and enjoy the scenery. Our testing on this product is oongoing, but our initial outlook is positive. If your child is too old for a standard trailer and not quite ready for a bike f their own, or gets bored in an enclosed trailer, this may be a good option. This trailer can also be used long after a child can ride their own bike, since it allows a child and parent to go on much longer rides together than they could with the child on a separate bike. Some testers have found that their kids who can already ride still love riding in the Weehoo because it allows them to go so much faster than they could on their own, and they find it to be exhilarating and exciting. It makes for a wonderful way for a parent and child to commute together.
In the Weehoo, the child is strapped in with a three point harness, and the seat adjusts fore and aft to accommodate different leg lengths. Panniers on the rear wheel allow for some storage of snacks, sunscreen, and other essentials. The Weehoo IGo Pro is nice for younger children or for long rides because the child does not have to remain as attentive as they would on a tandem bike or with a bike-style pedal trailer such as the WeeRide Co-Pilot. In the Weehoo, your child can pedal when they want to, or just hang on for the ride.
The iGo Pro attaches to the bike at the seat post, which puts a lot of pressure and stress on the post, so we do not recommend using it with a carbon post. Initial impressions while towing are positive, and the trailer tracks well, even on mellow single track.
