Pros: Lightweight, very compact, comfortable, works with wides range of pad sides and shapes
Cons: Can be unstable, especially if you don't pair it with the right pad, takes some time to adjust, assemble, disassemble
Best Uses: Backpacking, using with newer tear-drop shapped sleeping pads
The Compack Chair turns any 20" wide sleeping pad into a portable camp chair. At 6 oz. this is the lightest of Therm-a-Rest's chair options. It features a lightweight silnylon and aluminum poles that provide both support and reasonable durability.
The Compack Chair is 4.5 oz. lighter than the company's Trekker Chair. The added weight of the Trekker Chair brings with it more durable materials and slightly more back support. Our testers, however, prefer the Compack Chair becuase it's more than sufficiently comfortable. We take it on long expeditions, where you might be tentbound for several days, and on climbing trips that operate our of a basecamp. We like to pair it with the NeoAir XTherm and ZLite Sol for winter trips. Luxury!!
